Itinerary

Here’s an overview of the Everest Base Camp Chola Pass Gokyo Trek itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel. Rest and prepare for the trek. You may want to explore the city and visit some of its cultural attractions.

Day 2: Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2,610m/8,562ft) Take a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and begin trekking towards Phakding. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River and passes through small Sherpa villages. Overnight stay in Phakding.

Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft) Continue trekking along the Dudh Koshi River and cross several suspension bridges. Reach Namche Bazaar, the bustling Sherpa town and gateway to the Everest region. Overnight stay in Namche Bazaar.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar Spend a day in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization. Take short hikes to higher altitudes, visit the Everest View Hotel for panoramic mountain views, and explore the local market and museums. Overnight stay in Namche Bazaar.

Day 5: Trek to Tengboche (3,870m/12,694ft) Resume trekking and enjoy magnificent views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam along the trail. Visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, one of the largest monasteries in the Everest region. Overnight stay in Tengboche.

Day 6: Trek to Dingboche (4,360m/14,300ft) Descend through forests and cross the Imja Khola. Trek through Pangboche village and reach Dingboche, a beautiful village with stone-walled fields. Overnight stay in Dingboche.

Day 7: Acclimatization Day in Dingboche Spend a day in Dingboche for acclimatization. Take a short hike to higher altitudes for better acclimatization and enjoy the surrounding mountain vistas. Overnight stay in Dingboche.

Day 8: Trek to Lobuche (4,940m/16,207ft) Resume trekking along the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. Ascend gradually and reach Lobuche, a small settlement offering stunning views of Nuptse, Everest, and other peaks. Overnight stay in Lobuche.

Day 9: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,598ft) via Gorak Shep Trek to Gorak Shep, a small settlement located at the base of Kala Patthar. From Gorak Shep, hike to Everest Base Camp, enjoy the close-up view of Khumbu Icefall, and return to Gorak Shep for an overnight stay.

Day 10: Hike to Kala Patthar (5,545m/18,192ft) and Trek to Dzongla (4,830m/15,850ft) via Cho La Pass Early in the morning, hike to Kala Patthar for panoramic sunrise views of Everest, Lhotse, and other surrounding peaks. Descend to Dzongla and prepare for the challenging Cho La Pass crossing the next day. Overnight stay in Dzongla.

Day 11: Cross Cho La Pass (5,420m/17,782ft) and Trek to Thangnak (4,700m/15,420ft) Today is a challenging day as you cross the high-altitude Cho La Pass. Trek carefully over the glacier and reach Thangnak, a small village located near Ngozumpa Glacier. Overnight stay in Thangnak.

Day 12: Trek to Gokyo (4,790m/15,715ft) Resume trekking along the Ngozumpa Glacier and ascend to Gokyo, a scenic village situated near the pristine Gokyo Lakes. Enjoy the panoramic views of Cho Oyu, Everest, and other peaks. Overnight stay in Gokyo.

Day 13: Hike to Gokyo Ri (5,357m/17,575ft) and Trek to Machhermo (4,410m/14,468ft) Early morning hike to Gokyo Ri for breathtaking sunrise views of Everest, Cho Oyu, Makalu, and the Gokyo Lakes. Descend to Machhermo, passing by beautiful landscapes and yak pastures. Overnight stay in Machhermo.

Day 14: Trek to Namche Bazaar Descend through forests and reach the village of Dole. Continue trekking and pass through Khumjung before reaching Namche Bazaar. Overnight stay in Namche Bazaar.

Day 15: Trek to Lukla Continue descending and cross suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. Trek back to Lukla, where you can celebrate the successful completion of the trek with your team and local guides. Overnight stay in Lukla.

Day 16: Fly back to Kathmandu Take an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Rest and relax in Kathmandu, and enjoy some leisure time. You can explore the city, shop for souvenirs, or visit cultural sites.

Day 17: Departure Depart from Kathmandu with wonderful memories of the Everest Base Camp Chola Pass Gokyo Trek.
